Documentation > Installing PST v2.0a for Squeak

  • Overview
  • Version 2.0a of the PST IDE for Squeak includes a change set file for the entire Pocket Smalltalk IDE. The change set also includes the base files needed to start building applications for the Palm OS.

Caveats: if you are new to Pocket Smalltalk, we strongly that you look at the tutorials provided for v1.5 before proceeding with version 2.0a.

Although PST v2.0a has only been tested with Squeak 2.7 under Windows, it is possible to install it under different platforms by following the instructions below.

Version 2.0a of the Pocket Smalltalk IDE is fully integrated with the Squeak toolset. Unlike the Dolphin version, the PST 2.0a version uses the standard Squeak browsers. When working on Pocket Smalltalk code, all classes and methods are Pocket Smalltalk ones and NOT Squeak ones. Not everything that is available in Squeak is available in Pocket Smalltalk.

Instructions are also available for migrating v1.5 projects to v2.0.

    5. File in SIF-Squeak.st from above.

    7. File in the PST Change Set.

    8. If you'd like to help support our development project for PST, then you should consider creating a separate project or a new change set to contain the changes you make. This makes it much easier to send them back to us.

    9. Download and unzip the PST Base archive for 2.0a.
